Market: Crotone to beat Genoa

Serie A returns this weekend following an international break which ultimately saw Italy’s World Cup dream quashed. While the country on the whole is still desperately disappointed about their failure along with the retirement of key players such as Gianluigi Buffon, the return of club football provides a timely distraction. With this in mind, Crotone host Genoa on Sunday.

Crotone have been struggling this season as relegation looms large for the side. After 12 games they have 12 points, which has come from three wins, three draws and six defeats. What has seen them out of the relegation zone is their form in recent weeks, as they have won their last two games in a row, allowing them to move up to 15th place in the league. Another victory over struggling Genoa would see the home side onto 15 points, nine clear of their opponents. It is clear from their goal difference, having scored 11 and conceded 23, that they are struggling at both ends of the pitch, but they have a massive chance to pile the misery on Genoa and extend their winning run.

For Genoa, this season has been an awful one. Just one win in 12 along with three draws and eight defeats means that they have only accumulated six points, which sees them sitting in 18th place. 1o goals scored is a poor return, while 19 conceded shows their troubles, and something needs to change quickly if they are to avoid relegation. With home advantage, we are backing Crotone to win with odds of 19/10 from Bet365.
