(GSM) – Cruz Azul humiliated Mexico City rivals Pumas UNAM on Tuesday, winning 5-0 to advance to the final of the CONCACAF Champions League.

In a nearly sold out Estadio Azul, Pumas defended a 1-0 lead from the first leg but could not prevent the hammering they were about to face.

Cristian Riveros put Cruz Azul in the lead on 37 minutes but the real storm came later on and started with Horacio Cervantes’ goal in the 74th minute.

Paraguayan defender Dario Veron picked up a second yellow card two minutes later, leaving Pumas with ten.

After another minute, Cruz Azul got their third through Adrian Cortes.

Goals from Rogelio Chavez (84th) and Gerardo Lugo (92nd) set the final score to 5-0 and 5-1 on aggregate.

In the final, Cruz Azul face the winner of the other semi final tie between Pachuca and Toluca, who play their second leg on Wednesday.
