(GSM) – Cruzeiro earned their first points in the 2010 Copa Libertadores following a convincing 4-1 win over Colo Colo on Wednesday.
The Brazilians had lost their opening match to Velez Sarsfield and desperately needed a win over Colo Colo, who beat Deportivo Italia in their first group game.
Thiago Ribeiro scored the opening goal after just seven minutes in Belo Horizonte, but had his effort cancelled out by Esteban Paredes half an hour later.
But Cruzeiro did take distance after the hour mark. Kleber converted a penalty in the 62nd minute, Pedro Ken made it 3-1 seven minutes later and another spot kick from Kleber set the score to 4 versus 1 in minute 72.
Colo Colo had only nine men left on the pitch at full time, as Diego Olate was sent off in the 57th minute and Roberto Cereceda followed ten minutes later.
