Competition: Premier League
Market: Crystal Palace to stay up
Odds: 3/5 @ Ladbrokes
Crystal Palace recently appointed former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew as their new manager, and the change could well see an upturn in form. A former player, and popular figure among the supporters, Pardew, 53, is tasked with one single objective; keep Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
The Eagles are currently 18th in the table after 20 games, with 17 points. Under predecessor Neil Warnock, Palace were winless in their last eight games, failing to score on five occasions. Pardew is an advocate of more open, attacking football, but will be limited given the plight of the London side.
This is still a Crystal Palace team that last season finished in an unprecedented 11th place in the table. Pardew has many quality individuals to supply the goals and creativity, while also having inherited industrious players to do their part defensively.
Ladbrokes are backing Pardew with odds of 3/5 to keep Palace in the Premier League this season. They are only one point adrift of safety, with 54 points still to play for.
