Crystal Palace are among the clubs who are interested in signing Callum Wilson from Newcastle United in the January transfer window, according to The Sun. The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Southampton, Brentford and Crystal Palace are also keen on a deal for Wilson.
The Sun has noted that Brentford are in pole position for Wilson and view him as the ideal replacement for Ivan Toney, who left for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League in the summer of 2024. Wilson is 32 now and is out of contract at Newcastle at the end of the season.
Wilson has had injury problems during his time at Newcastle and has not played at all this season. In the 2023-24 campaign, the English striker scored nine goals and provided one assist in 20 Premier League matches, scored one goal in two EFL Cup matches, and played four times in the UEFA Champions League.
