Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace are ready to launch an attack of out-of-favour Espanyol goalkeeper Diego Lopez, Daily Mirror understands.
The Eagles sit in 17th place in the standings and have thus far conceded 28 goals in 17 matches. In attempt to improve their defensive record, Crystal Palace are said to be keen to add an experienced and proven 36-year-old custodian.
Diego Lopez only joined Espanyol on a permanent deal from AC Milan this summer but has yet to make a single La Liga appearance.
The experienced ‘keeper featured 35 times last season but found himself behind Pau Lopez in the pecking order this term and is said to be pushing out for a move.
Selhurst Park officials are said to be regarding Lopez as a goalkeeper who would be immediately introduced as number one in front of Wayne Hennessey and Julian Speroni and are hoping to wrap up a deal for the Spaniard next month.
Crystal Palace are currently available at 4/1 betting odds to be relegated this season.
