Crystal Palace are interested in signing Adam Wharton from Blackburn Rovers in the January transfer window, according to The Mirror. The report has claimed that Premier League club Palace have offered Championship side Blackburn £15 million in transfer fees for Wharton.
The report has noted that Palace’s London and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on Wharton, but it is the Eagles who have made a first move for the 19-year-old midfielder. Palace wanted to sign England international midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City, but the former Leeds United star is on his way to West Ham United.
Wharton has made 22 starts and four substitute appearances in the Championship for Blackburn this season. He has scored two goals and given three assists in those games. The 19-year-old English midfielder has given two Carabao Cup matches and has played once in the FA Cup this campaign.
