Crystal Palace looking at Welbeck

Crystal Palace have emerged as front runners to sign Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck, according to the Daily Star.

The Eagles have scored just eight goals in eleven games so far this season and are just two points above the relegation zone following Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea.

They are likely to be in hunt for a new front man once the transfer window reopens and Welbeck is among their targets, with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang above him in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite starting less than thirty league games since the start of the 2015/16 campaign, the former Manchester United forward has still featured regularly at international level and was a surprise choice in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.

However, just one start so far this season might be a bridge to far with the twenty-seven-year-old set to consider his options in January.
