Premier League outfit Crystal Palace have launched a late bid to sign Norwegian international forward Alexander Sorloth of FC Midtjylland.
Roy Hodgson has been on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and a possible replacement for Christian Benteke upfront as the experienced tactician looks to boost his options in attack.
Preston’s Jordan Hugil has been widely expected to join the Selhurst Park side but Norwegian local news outlet Adressa claims that Sorloth is already in London to seal his move to Crystal Palace.
FC Midtjylland have previously rejected the initial offer from Crystal Palace but the two sides appear to have agreed on a transfer fee believed to be standing in the region of £8 million.
Injury-hit Eagles have been linked with a number of transfer targets during the winter market and are expected to be rather proactive during the deadline day as Roy Hodgson looks to boost his squad and improve his team’s chances of remaining safely slotted in the top half of the Premier League table.
The 22-year-old Sorloth scored 10 goals in 19 league appearances during the 2017/18 season.
