Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace have completed the deal for Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, it has been revealed.
The Eagles went to confirm they had signed the 31-year-old on a free transfer, dubbing him “one of La Liga’s best goalkeepers”.
Guaita has signed a three-year contract with the Premier League club and he officially joins the club on 1st July.
The experienced shot-stopper is expected to take over from Wayne Hennessey as the new number one, but the Welshman is likely to put up a decent fight.
Vicente Guaita boasts an enviable La Liga experience, having made 176 top-flight appearances for Valencia and Getafe.
The highly rated shot-stopper was especially impressive last season, keeping no fewer than 12 clean sheets in 33 outings.
