According to Sky Italia, Crystal Palace have submitted a bid believed to be around £8.9 million for Roma’s Maxime Gonalons. The 29-year-old is at the top of the Eagles’ priority list as they attempt to bolster their midfield ahead of the new Premier League season, especially in the wake of Yohan Cabaye’s departure from the club.
Under Roy Hodgson, Crystal Palace were able to turn things around last year as they wound up surviving in the top flight once again. Now, though, it seems as if they’re ready to push on and try to become a force to be reckoned with in the EPL, with Gonalons being one of the first pieces of the puzzle.
The defensive midfielder seems to be on the way out of Roma one way or another, with the club continuing to improve their squad as they go in search of what would be an unlikely Serie A title challenge.
