Crystal Palace are set to acquire the services of goalkeeper Lucas Perri from Sao Paolo on loan for the rest of the season, according to multiple sources.
The Eagles are being hit hard by an injury crisis when it comes to goalkeepers at the moment, with Vicente Guaita and Wayne Hennessey out of action. Both first-choice Guaita and preferred backup Hennessey are set to miss over a month of action, leaving manager Roy Hodgson with the 39-year-old Julian Speroni as the only senior option between the posts as the former Liverpool boss prepares to return to Anfield to take on the league leaders on Saturday.
Perri, 21, would provide a short-term stopgap option for the role, but the deal is unlikely to be completed in time for him to make the trip to Merseyside. That means the experienced Speroni is set to make his first appearance in over a year, his 404th for Crystal Palace in total.
