According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Crystal Palace are one of the many clubs currently monitoring the status of Chelsea youngster Reece James. The Blues are unlikely to sell the 19 year old during the summer transfer window with new manager Frank Lampard wanting to fully assess his squad first, before making any rash decisions regarding transfers. James has been highly tipped to be one of English football’s biggest stars within the next few years, but as we all know, Chelsea don’t have the best track record when it comes to nurturing and growing young talent.
He is set to miss the start of the season anyway due to ligament damage that he suffered back in June, with Chelsea hoping that he is going to be available for selection by September.
Either way, though, there’s no guarantee whatsoever that Chelsea are going to be in a position to accommodate his desires regarding inserting him into the first team plans.
