CSKA Moscow have denied reports that they have received a bid from Everton for defender Sergei Ignashevich.

It has been rumored that the Russia international was seen as a potential replacement for Joleon Lescott by David Moyes, should Lescott move to Manchester City.

The denial comes after Russian daily Sport Express on Friday, quoted CSKA president Evgeny Giner to have said, “We have a very interesting offer from abroad.”

But Giner has completely denied making any statement regarding Ignashevich and has underlined that CSKA are yet to receive any offers for the 29-year-old.

“According to some media sources PFC CSKA has an interesting offer for Ignashevich, and I told the media about it,” Giner told the club’s official website.

“This is not true. We have no offers for Ignashevich currently so I didn’t give any comments over Sergei, neither to local nor to international media.”
