(GSM) – CSKA Moskva dropped from second to third in the Russian League this Sunday, suffering a painful 1-2 defeat by Spartak Nalchik in the capital city.
After Rubin Kazan beat Dinamo Moskva 2-0 on Saturday, pressure was on CSKA to beat Nalchik a day later.
But David Siradze put the guests in the lead after just eight minutes and Gogita Gogua made it 0-2 in the 44th minute. Tomas Necid pulled one back a minute later but a goalless second half meant that CSKA suffered their third defeat of the season and are now two points behind Rubin.
After 14 game weeks, Zenit St. Petersburg are comfortably on top with a seven-points lead over Rubin Kazan. Zenit beat Rostov 1-3 on Saturday with goals from Alexander Kerzhakov, Danny and Viktor Faizulin.
