CSKA Moscow failed to move back into first place in the Russian Premier League, losing 1-0 to Kuban Krasnodar. Rubin Kazan remain in the lead.

No goals were scored in the first hour of the match between Kuban and CSKA, but the hosts then took the lead through Andrei Topchu. CSKA lacked the strength to find the equaliser and suffered their third defeat of the season.

CSKA remain in shared second place with FK Moscow and Krylya Sovetov.

Zenit St Petersburg dropped to seventh place following a 1-0 defeat at Dinamo Moscow. The only goal in that match came from Dmitri Khoklov in the 84th minute.
