(GSM) – CSKA Moscow moved into second place in the Russian Premier League on Friday after securing a 1-0 victory away to Rubin Kazan.
Both sides entered play on Friday four points behind leaders Zenit St. Petersburg after the first 10 rounds of play, and it was a tense affair from the start.
But CSKA broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Chilean striker Mark González notched his second goal of the campaign for the only strike of the match.
The CSKA defense and goalkeeer Igor Akinfeev played outstanding games to keep last year’s champion off the scoresheet.
