Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow have made a big money offer for Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel, according to A Bola.
The Portuguese newspaper reports that the Army Men have submitted an €18 million bid for the highly rated forward and are awaiting for a response from the player’s employers.
With star striker Seydou Doumbia likely to miss next two months of action with a back injury, CSKA Moscow are eager to sign a high-profile centre forward who could slot straight into the starting line-up.
They have made Ricky van Wolfswinkel their number one target and wasted no time by already making a formal bid for the player’s services.
The Dutch forward has been an instant hit at Estadio Joao Alvalade, after joining the Lions from Utrecht last summer, but he has been criticized for the lack of goals at the start of the new season.
After the 23-year-old was booed by the home fans in weekend’s defeat to Rio Ave, he could show some interest in making a switch to Russian Premier League.
