The Chinese Super League will always cause some controversy given just how unique it is, but now, they’ll be forced to have some sanctions after question marks were raised over their transfer dealings.

Clubs in the league will now have player salary caps which ensures that they can’t go too over the top with their purchases, in order to prevent wastefulness from the biggest teams. Player bonuses and salaries will also be capped, as the federation takes steps to ensuring that the CSL is considered to be an elite division in the realms of world football.

Many top stars have decided to follow the money in recent years, but the question remains as to whether or not they can reach that next level.

From a quality standpoint they’re obviously tracking behind, and it’d take a decade or so for them to at least be taken semi seriously by the masses.
