(GSM) – Alan Curbishley is tipped to succeed Martin O’Neill as new Aston Villa manager, according to the latest reports.
Curbishley has been unemployed for two years after leaving West Ham United and he is believed to be gearing up for an interview at Villa this Wednesday.
Meanwhile caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald has already applied for the job on Tuesday is believed to be in contention for the job.
The 52-year-old manager built managerial reputation through establishing Charlton Athletic as a top-flight club before moving to manage at Upton Park for two seasons.
Curbishley played for Aston Villa in the 1983-84 season.
