Current and former Liverpool boss battle for Johan Elmander

Inter’s Rafa Benitez wants to pip Roy Hodgson to Johan Elmander’s signature as both managers start search for attacking reinforcements.

Despite enjoying a great season at Reebok Stadium, Johan Elmander has refused to sign an extension to his deal that expires at the end of the season, and he looks likely to leave Bolton come end of the season.

Bearing in mind that Liverpool and Fenerbahce have also expressed interest in the Swede, Rafa Benitez is set to make a January move for the player, especially as there are reports Samuel Eto’o could be on a move to Real Madrid.

Elmander had been dubbed a big flop at Bolton but he started this season in great fashion, with his eight Premier League goals one of the reasons behind the Trotters outstanding start to the season.
