Czech midfielder Jan Polak has extended his stay at Belgian club RSC Anderlecht by signing a one year contract extension. Polak, 28, will now be at RSCA till the summer of 2012.

Polak was close to a switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray but the move broke down due to the player’s salary demands. Polak reportedly wanted Gala to pay him the same amount as their other Czech player, former Liverpool forward Milan Baros, something that was not agreeable to the Turkish club.

Polak joined Anderlecht from Nuremberg in 2007. Prior to Anderlecht and Nuremberg, he had also played for 1. FC Brno and Slovan Liberec.
