Kenny Dalglish praised a fantastic team performance alongside Luis Suarez’s hat-trick heroics that swept Norwich City aside on Saturday.

Liverpool conquered Norwich 3-0 after their Uruguayan striker scored twice in four first-half minutes.

A sublime third goal from near the halfway-line from Suarez wrapped up the game but Dalglish highlighted the team’s solid performance at Carrow Road.

“It was a fantastic team performance,” he told reporters.

“Luis will deservedly get most of the headlines for three brilliant goals but the way we went about the game and approached the game got us the result.

“We’re really pleased with the way they’ve committed themselves to the game today, as we were last week when we never got the result that the performance deserved.

“Every single one of the players in the squad could play for us against anybody.”

After only one win in their last 11 Premier League games, Dalglish was cheered by Liverpool’s return to form that sees them hold on to eighth place.

“There was a smile on my face a few times. It was a great win and a great performance,” he said.

“The level of performance wasn’t a surprise; they’ve produced that many times this year without getting this reward for it.”

Suarez’s hat-trick was world class.

“He’s a fantastic footballer and a fantastic person,” Dalglish said of his star striker.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert conceded his men were a long way second best.

“We were beaten by the better team,” he said.

“We lost goals that were disappointing but there are not many times I have walked away from here disappointed – but tonight I am. That is the game.

“I can’t be too critical with the team because they have put the club where they are today. We made three bad mistakes for the goals but I won’t blame any individuals or the team.

“We lost three battles. Every game we have to be bang at it.

“If you’re not, then things like that can happen. You are up against that magnitude of team and that calibre of player. If we are not at our level we get beat.

“The finishing was great but it should never have happened in the first place. What is said in the dressing room always stays in the dressing room.

” I never get too low with a defeat just as I don’t get too high with a win. Those lads have put the club where it is today. You pick yourself up, you go again.”
