Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish admits that his side must start converting more of their play into goals.
The Reds have won just two of their last 10 Premier League games in the run-up to their visit to Sunderland on Saturday, having scored just 10 in the process.
The club have struggled to get on the scoresheet to the extent that even 17th-placed Blackburn have mustered up eight more goals than them this term.
“With what we have got here, we have got to put the finishing touches to the good work that we have done,” Dalglish told reporters.
“Whoever comes up with the solution – whether it is a centre-back getting 20 goals a season – I’m not really bothered. We just need to find a solution.”
“We need a bit of good fortune that we all hope to get. It’s a wee bit ironic the number of penalties that we have missed (six, excluding shoot-outs) and yet we end up winning the (Carling) Cup on penalties.”
