Dalglish: Suarez is not a cheat

Kenny Dalglish believes that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has proved critics wrong after being labelled a diver.

The Uruguayan provided yet another impressive display on Wednesday with a brace that led to his side’s 2-1 victory at Stoke City in the Carling Cup.

During the game, Suarez passed Potters defender Jonathan Woodgate but managed to stay on his feet after the two collided, which would have surely led to a penalty had the 24-year-old gone down.

And Dalglish feels that this has disproved the idea that his striker goes down too easily, following criticism from the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson.

“He is a fantastic footballer and actually got injured trying to stay on his feet, when he went around Woodgate and there was contact just before half-time,” he told reporters.

“I think that puts the myth that the wee man is rolling all over the place into perspective.”

“If you are that way inclined, you go down, get the penalty and get the man sent off.”
