Brazilian defender Daniel Alves will be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season, according to his agent.
The highly rated defender has a contract until the end of the current campaign at Camp Nou and he has yet to be offered a new deal.
Alves is clearly disappointed by the treatment from the club officials and he is almost certain to quit the Catalans in the summer.
The full-back’s agent Dinorah Santana has all but confirmed that his client will be moving clubs in the summer transfer window.
“They (Barca) have not gotten in touch with us,” Santana told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
“Hence, we interpret that Barca does not want Alves to continue so we will find another club.
“It’s strange that they would let him leave on a free transfer. But if they have not said anything up to now, I believe they do not want to renew Alves’ contract.”
Dani Alves has proved to be an excellent signing for Barcelona, having managed 20 goals and 87 assists in 321 competitive appearances since joining from Sevilla.
The Catalans currently sit one point adrift of La Liga leaders Real Madrid, who also have a game in hand, and they can be backed at 9/4 to lift the league trophy.
