Brazilian full-back Dani Alves has pledged his future to Barcelona by saying that he wants to retire at Camp Nou.
The 28-year-old is considered as one of the key members of Pep Guardiola’s side and he has said time and again that he doesn’t want to leave the Catalans.
The Brazilian now confirms that he wants to remain at Camp Nou and continue fighting for trophies on domestic and international stage.
“It is my objective to retire at Barcelona. I want to extend my stay here as long as possible and want to continue to fight for silverware,” Alves told Catalan daily Sport.
“However, you never know what happens in football. One day a transfer is not even an option, and the next day you can be on the move. I intend to retire at Barca, though.”
Alves left Brazil for Europe some ten years ago when he joined Sevilla after spending just one season at Bahia.
The defender made a name for himself while at Ramon Sanche Pizjuan and soon became regarded as one of the best full-backs in world football.
Barcelona splashed more than €40 million on the player in July 2008, but Alves has since more than justified his hefty price tag with some scintillating performances at Camp Nou.
