El Mundo Deportivo has learned that Atletico Madrid are showing interest in Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.
Los Colchoneros do not need to sign a new centre-back at the moment, but they plan to make a move on the Dane if Toby Alderweireld leaves the club.
The Belgian is reportedly on the radar of several Premier League sides and might quit Vicente Calderon this summer.
Daniel Agger, on the other hand, hopes to leave the Reds in search of regular playing time and it is believed he would be available on a cut-price deal.
The problem is that Atletico Madrid cannot guarantee him first team action with Diego Godin and Miranda impressing in the heart of defence.
Daniel Agger, 29, has been a loyal servant to Liverpool over the last eight and a half years, making 175 Premier League appearances and scoring 9 goals. He has won one FA Cup trophy and League Cup title while at Anfield.
