Danijel Pranjic completes Sporting Lisbon switch

Sporting Lisbon have announced on their official website that they have signed midfielder Danijel Pranjic on a free transfer.

The Croatian international has signed a three-year deal with the Lions after successfully passing a medical at Joao Alvalade.

The left winger, who can also act as a left full-back, had been a free agent since leaving Bayern Munich in June.

Pranjic appeared to be on the verge of joining an unnamed Chinese club back in May, but the transfer eventually fell through.

The Croatian winger made a name for himself at Heerenveen, where he enjoyed four very successful seasons before joining Bayern Munich in a €7.7 million deal in the summer of 2009.

However, the player never quite managed to reach his potential at Alianz Arena and was allowed to leave after spending three years at the club.

Danijel Pranjic has scored just 1 goal in 55 Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarians.
