Serie A giants Napoli are considering a January move for Cagliari full-back Danilo Avelar, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
It is no secret that the Azzurri are in the market for a left-sided defender and Dnipro’s Ivan Strinic remains their primary target.
Given that the Croat’s contract is set to expire in less than two weeks, Napoli were expected to close the deal without any problems, but it appears certain issues have arisen linked with the demands of his agents.
As a result, the Azzurri are also looking at Cagliari left-back Danilo Avelar as a possible January reinforcement.
The Brazilian already has plenty of Serie A experience, having made 52 league appearances for Isolani, scoring 3 goals in the process.
Another positive is that he can also be used in centre midfield or as a left winger, although with his contract running until June 2017, it is believed Cagliari would not be prepared to negotiate his sale before the summer.
