Liverpool’s forgotten man Danny Ings is likely to return from injury in the next few weeks and will look to take up one of the various loan offers that are reportedly on the table in order to guarantee himself some consistent game time, according to the Guardian.
The striker has garnered interest from four Premier League clubs – Watford, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Newcastle – and with the World Cup coming up in the summer Ings will need to string together a good run of form and game time if he is to stand any chance of making it into the England squad for the prestigious tournament.
Ings suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee at the end of 2015 and a similar injury to his right knee a year later, both of which left the striker sidelined for significant spells. Having not played regular football for almost two years it may take time for the England international to get back to full match fitness, but his talent is undeniable and a loan spell at a club that is willing to give him a shot could be the perfect route back into top flight football.
