He was rumoured with a return to Serie A, but after 18 months of constant talk, it actually happened – Matteo Darmian is back in Italy. The Italian full-back has left Manchester United in the final days of the transfer window, as he signed a contract with Parma. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the full-back leaves Man United for less than two million euros, which will mark a huge loss for the Devils, considering they paid around eight times more for him four years ago.
The transfer fee of just €1.5m seems to be a good piece of business for Parma. They are getting themselves an experienced full-back, who is currently 29 and will be able to offer them qualities they have lacked so far. Man United, on the other hand, will not miss Darmian much this season. They have already signed Diogo Dalot last summer and Aaron Wan-Bissaka joined the club this summer from Crystal Palace.
