Bundesliga bottom-dwellers Darmstadt 98 have announced the signing of former Borussia Dortmund winger Kevin Grosskreutz, who has put pen to paper on a deal until 2019.
The news of Grosskreutz’s signature has been published on the club’s official website today.
Kevin Grosskreutz spent the biggest part of his career playing at Borussia Dortmund where he won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012.
During his six-year spell with the BVB, Kevin Grosskreutz has been made a full German international as well and the 28-year-old took part in Germany’s 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy-winning campaign.
Grosskreutz left Dortmund after 236 competitive appearances for the club and moved to Galatasaray in 2015.
The Germany international’s Turkish spell was cut short a year later when he returned to Stuttgart.
Having been released by the Bundesliga 2 side earlier in March, Grosskreutz signs for Darmstadt as a free player, but will not be eligible to feature for the Lilies until the end of the season as he already represented two different sides this term.
