Darren Bent believes that Bournemouth striker Joshua King would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
The former Tottenham striker has outlined the attributes of the Norway international that would make him perfect for Spurs.
According to The Daily Mail, Spurs are interested in signing the 28-year-old striker this summer.
Bent said on Sky Sports, as relayed by HITC Sport: “Someone like a Josh King would be a perfect signing because he can play left, right or down the middle. But it [the lack of a second striker] has been an issue for a while.”
Joshua King stats
According to WhoScored, King has played 23 minutes in the Championship for Bournemouth so far this season, while during the 2019-20 campaign, he made 24 starts and two starts in the Premier League for the Cherries, scoring four goals and providing four assists in the process.
Back in the 2018-19 campaign, the 28-year-old Norway international striker made 34 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Bournemouth, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
Would Joshua King be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
Harry Kane is the only out-and-out striker at Tottenham at the moment, and Jose Mourinho’s side – who are rated at 16/5 by Betfair to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season – need to sign a new player upfront.
King knows the Premier League inside out, and he would be a good back-up to Kane at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
