Liverpool have completed the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica in a deal which could rise to a total of £85 million, which would make it the Merseysiders’ most expensive buy ever. Manchester United were also in the race and were believed to have made a bigger offer to bring the Uruguayan striker to Old Trafford instead, but the player himself chose Anfield as his preferred destination.
