Darwin Nunez tells Benfica he wants to leave

Darwin Nunez has told Benfica that he wants to leave in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. Manchester United, West Ham United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United all are interested in signing Nunez, who is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Nunez joined Benfica from Almeria in 2020 for £21 million. The 22-year-old Uruguay international striker has a release clause of more than £100 million, but Benfica are reportedly likely to sell the youngster for around £65 million.

The 22-year-old is one of the best young strikers in Europe and has been playing well for Benfica this season. The striker has scored 20 goals and given two assists in the Portuguese league and four goals in the Champions League so far this campaign. Benfica are third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga at the moment with 61 points from 27 matches.
