Competition: Premier League
Market: Dave Jones to be next West Brom manager
Odds: 11/2 @ Bet 365
Odds have been slashed on Dave Jones to become the next West Bromwich Albion manager. Bet 365 are giving odds of 11/2, which makes the 57-year-old the odds-on favourite to replace Pepe Mel.
Jones has managed Stockport County, Southampton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday. He lost his job with the latter after just nine months in the role, with the Owls having won just one league game all season.
But he is being touted as the next manager for West Brom, with Jones having close ties with Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace. Following Mel’s departure this summer, the club will be appointing their third permanent manager in a year, after Steve Clarke lost his job midway through the campaign.
West Brom have endured an awful season. The Midlands side finished 17th in the league, with 36 points. They drew a record 15 games in the league, while winning just seven times.
For fear of relegation next season, they could be looking to the experienced Jones to ensure their survival for another campaign.
