David Moyes to save sinking Everton

Former Everton boss David Moyes could be set for a stunning return to Merseyside as he is lined up to replace current manager Ronald Koeman, according to the Mirror.

The Toffies have had an atrocious start to this season and are currently wallowing down in 16th place in the Premier League table. Ronald Koeman’s side have also failed to win any of their Europa League games and sit rock bottom of Group E.

Having splashed out over £100m in the summer in an attempt to break into the top six this disastrous start has put the Dutch manager under huge pressure and he amongst the bookies’ favourites to be the next manager to leave his job.

One of those being lined up as a potential replacement is former Everton manager David Moyes. The Scotsman was in charge at Goodison Park for 11 years before leaving in 2013 to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Despite his turbulent managerial stints at the Manchester club, Real Sociedad and, most recently, Sunderland, many Everton fans would welcome Moyes back with open arms.
