According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City veteran David Silva is edging closer and closer towards a move over to Qatar during the summer transfer window. It’s already public knowledge that the Spaniard is set to leave the club after a decade at the Etihad, with numerous reports linking him with a move to Spain, AC Milan and potentially even Inter Miami. Now, though, it appears as if he is in favour of heading to Al-Duhail – the rival club of Xavi’s team Al Sadd.
This would clearly be a move based on finances, but with the 2022 FIFA World Cup coming up in two years time, it could be a really good opportunity for another world class player to further help the development of the beautiful game in the country of Qatar.
Whether or not everyone else sees it that way, of course, is a different matter altogether.
