David Silva has all but confirmed that he will eventually leave Manchester City before his career comes to an end. The Spaniard signed a one-year contract extension on his previous deal last year which will keep him at the Etihad until 2020, although he noted that he’d be 34 once that contract expires. Because of that, he has stated that he’d probably go in search of a new challenge – although he’s ruled out the possibility of playing for another club in English football.
The 32-year-old has been a consistent force in the heart of City’s first team ever since he initially signed back in 2010, quickly establishing himself as one of the greatest players in the club’s recent history. City, who are coming off the back of a dominant Premier League title-winning campaign, are looking to become the first team in almost a decade to actually win consecutive championships in the top flight.
