David Silva is set to leave Manchester City after 10 highly successful seasons. His contribution in the four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and five League Cups the club has won since his arrival from Valencia in 2010, has been absolutely immeasurable. Overall, he has made a total of 424 appearances for City and is set to make several more before leaving, and he has scored 74 goals and laid on 137 assists in that time.
The 34-year-old attacking midfielder’s contract is now about to expire but he still hasn’t made his mind up about where he wants to go next. America has been mentioned as a potential destination, but a return to Spain could also be on the cards.
Or, according to the Mirror, he could follow in the footsteps of his former international teammate Xavi Hernandez and head for Qatar, from where he has received a generous offer. Al-Duhail, who top the Qatar Stars League, have apparently informed his representatives of their willingness to financially outmatch any offer by any potential rival for his signature, as the country seeks to raise the standards of their domestic football ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
