Atletico Madrid forward David Villa is considering a summer switch to the United States, according to Marca.
The experienced striker is hoping to extend his deal with los Colchoneros as it is due to expire in June 2015, but he is prepared to leave as early as this summer if the club opt against offering him a new contract.
Villa reportedly has a number of suitors in the United States and is prepared to consider a move to the MLS.
Despite proving to be a great bargain buy having arrived from Barcelona last summer, Villa seems to have lost his place in the starting line-up, which could affect his decision on the future.
The 32-year-old has made a total of 33 competitive appearances for los Colchoneros and managed to score 15 goals.
His place in Spain’s World Cup squad also appears to be in danger as the forward was not called for friendly game against Italy earlier this month.
