Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow are showing interest in Cagliari stopper Davide Astori, reports Izvestia.
The 26-year-old has developed into one of Italy’s top centre-backs with a number of top Serie A sides believed to be keen.
He also has some suitors outside his native country, with Southampton keeping close tabs and now Lokomotiv Moscow joining the chase.
The Russian Premier League high-flyers want to pair Astori with Vedran Corluka, and are set to make a January move on the Italy international.
It remains to be seen whether the player would be interested in a switch to Russia though, with top Italian clubs vying for his signature.
Davide Astori, who had come through the youth ranks at Milan, has made a total of 152 Serie A appearances for Isolani, scoring 3 goals in the process.
Meanwhile, Lokomotiv Moscow will have a chance to return to the top of the league standings when they face Rubin Kazan, with the hosts 8/11 to extend the impressive run of results.
