Davies pens new Swans deal

Swansea City defender Ben Davies has extended his contract by a further year, according to BBC Sport.

The 20 year old, who has made twenty club appearances this season, is now committed himself to the Welsh side until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Davies broke into the Swansea first team last season, and played in all but one of their thirty-eight league games.

He also was one of their key performers in their victorious League Cup campaign, which has led the club to be involved in this season’s Europa League.

Michael Laudrup’s men made it through to the knockout stages of the competition by finishing second in their group, and will face Napoli in the round of 32 on February 20th.

The club’s next league match is a tricky trip to Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day where they will hope to end a winless streak that stretches back to the beginning of the month.
