Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac has confirmed that Alphonso Davies will be joining up with the squad next month after Canada’s scheduled friendly with St Kitts and Nevis. The teenage sensation officially signed from Vancouver Whitecaps back in July, but hasn’t made the switch over as of yet. Kovac stated that Davies will move to Germany and begin the process of working his way up through the club’s ranks, as he aims to become the latest North American star to make an impact in Europe.
Davies scored twice at the weekend in his final farewell against Portland Timbers, but now, he’s set to face much more stiff competition. While he’ll be looked towards as Canada’s shining light at the 2026 FIFA World Cup when they help to host the event, his main focus for the next eight years or so will be to carve out a legacy for himself with Bayern.
