Tottenham Hotspur looks like they have secured their first signing of the new season, having agreed to pay a fee of £42 million to acquire Ajax centre back Davinson Sánchez.
According to the Independent, Spurs will pay £28 million for the Colombian defender as well as an extra £14 million in add-ons.
This offer comes after the Dutch club offered Sánchez a new contract, but the defender refused the deal in order to make the move to England.
However, there are reports of a last-minute squabble between the two sides on how fast the payments will be processed.
Fears of the deal falling through are unlikely as it looks like Sánchez will definitely make the move to Spurs as he has not reported to the team for their Europa League play-off game against Rosenborg on Thursday.
The 21-year old Colombian has made quite the debut for Ajax since joining the Amsterdam club last season, in which he appeared in 43 matches and scored six goals.
