Dawson linked with Burnley switch

Burnley are ready to pursue a summer deal for West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson, according to the Mirror.

The Baggies are set to lose a number of members of the squad once their almost inevitable relegation to the second tier is confirmed and Burnley are keen to win the race to secure Dawson’s services.

Alan Pardew’s side currently sit rock bottom of the table, ten points from safety with just seven games to play while a number of sides above them have a game in hand.

Dawson is in his seventh season with the Midlands’ club during which time he has racked up one hundred and sixty-three appearances in all competitions and scored twelve goals.

All of his league outings for the club have come in the Premier League and the Clarets are ready to give him the chance to extend his stay in the top flight with their safety all but confirmed.
