Looking to extend their advantage at the top of the Eastern Conference, DC United will welcome Chicago to Audi Field in the early hours of Thursday.

Starting with the hosts, while DC United would have been disappointed to have picked up a 1-1 draw away at New England last weekend, Ben Olsen’s side still find themselves sat at the top of the Eastern Conference. Led by leading goalscorer Wayne Rooney who now sits third in the MLS overall goalscoring charts, fans in Washington will also be boosted by their recent displays at Audi Field. Pickup up back-to-back wins over Columbus Crew and Sporting KC in their last two appearances on home soil, the mood in Olsen’s camp should be on a high and they should see Thursday as a golden opportunity to extend their buffer at the top of the table.

As for the visitors, while Chicago may have their sights set on securing a play-off spot in the East this season, Veljko Paunović will be growing more concerned by sides’ performances on the road. Suffering a 4-1 hammering against the SJ Earthquakes in their last appearance outside of Illinois, the Reds have lost three of their last four matches on their travels and are yet to pick up a single away victory in the new MLS campaign. Suffering a 2-1 loss the last time they made the trip to Audi Field, we’re backing the East’s league leaders to extend their buffer at the top of the table.
