With the chance to carry on their stellar start to the season, DC United will host a struggling New York City side on Sunday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting three past Colorado last week and appearing to bounce back after their defeat against Los Angeles earlier in the month, DC United find themselves topping the Eastern Conference. With leading goalscorer and former England international Wayne Rooney already bagging four MLS goals this season, a huge part of their success at the start of the campaign has been their form in the final third. Scoring two or more goals in each of their four victories this season, Ben Olsen’s side hold the best-attacking record in the East.

As for the visitors, while New York may have managed to pick up three points away at Minnesota last weekend, the Blues shipped three goals and their performances are coming under increasing scrutiny. Yet to pick up a victory in their opening six matches this season, Domènec Torrent’s men sit way down in 11th in the Eastern Conference. A huge part of their issue so far this year has come down to their struggles at the back. Conceding nine goals in their last four outings, they have also shipped two or more goals in all of their matches away from the Yankee Stadium so far. Suffering a 3-1 loss the last time NYCFC made the trip to Audi Field, we’re expecting a similar result on Sunday night.
