DC United have announced the capture of French defender Frederic Brillant from New York City FC.
The Washington based outfit were the first MLS side to complete a deal in the Sunday trade window, as they found an agreement with their league rivals.
In exchange, New York City FC receive $75,000 as well as an international roster slot for the new season.
DC United officials were delighted to sign the 32-year-old central defender having made reinforcing their back line a priority.
After making a move from KV Oostende, Frederic Brillant went on to feature in 58 MLS fixtures, establishing himself as one of league’s leading stoppers.
